China Steel Chemical Corp. was established in February 1989 by a joint venture initialized by China Steel Corporation, which has invited other public and private enterprises for the investment in this company. The goal of this company is to develop an integrated domestic chemical industry related to the steel production. It is starting from coal chemicals and advancing stepwise to the fine chemicals industry. Since such establishment, China Steel Chemical Corp. has further set up factories specialized with coal tar, and light oil processing to accomplish high productivity. In order to reach the goal of multiple operation, it has re-invested in such eight affiliated companies as Himag Magnetic Corporation; China Hi-Ment Corporation; China Steel Asphalt Technologies Corporation; China Steel Concrete Industrial Corporation; Union Steel International Development Corporation.
